Review: UHC MP5 Airsoft Spring Gun
69Recently, when my brother and two friends all wanted to get into airsofting we looked around for the best, cheapest, and most durable gun we could find. After some research, reviews, and the normal arguments, we picked the UHC MP5 from Airsplat.com. Here’s what we’ve found about the gun we use.
UHC MP5 Build Quality
One of the main reasons we picked this gun as because of the overall build quality, From the reviews, we learned that the biggest problems with buying a cheap airsoft gun was the quality. We made sure the ones we bought were quality, and they were. The UHC MP5 is a very tough gun, with hard plastic and metal combined to make a very durable frame.
I’ve dropped my gun on cement before, while running, and picked it up and kept going. It wasn’t an easy fall, either. The one problem we have all had is with the retractable stock. Normally, the stock retracts when you push a lever and slide it in, but the lever seems to be activating a mechanism that is a bit weak, and all of our stocks, to a degree, don’t stay out when you brace the gun firmly against your shoulder.
Overall, the build quality is excellent, and I haven’t had a problem with anything breaking besides the stock mechanism.

UHC MP5 Usability
The UHC MP5 is a great gun for whatever you like: sniping, action, or even hand to hand combat, if you like! The removable silencer and retractable stock turn it into nothing more than a large pistol, which is great for running and dodging, but when you add the stock and the silencer, you get an excellent sniper rifle, with accuracy that impressed us.
The cocking lever is in an excellent spot, and very easy to pull back. You can even pull it back several times for a shotgun-like effect, with a spread of three or more bbs, but I don’t recommend it, as it’s not intended to do this, and we have had the gun jam while doing it. Having said that, it’s still fun!
There is a three-way switch on the side of the gun, with one selection for safety, and two the for single-shot firing mode. The safety works great, and the switch makes a satisfying ‘click’ when you turn it, pointing to a quality mechanism.

UHC MP5 Accuracy
The second reason we bought the UHC MP5 was because of its accuracy. We had read reviews that praised the gun for its long range abilities, and we were not disappointed. Using the .2 gram bbs, we were sniping each other from long distances, and scoring hits or near misses most of the time. The sights work great (although not a night), and the accuracy is amazing. For instance, we were down to one on one in the woods, and I was hiding behind a tree about forty feet away from my opponent’s tree. His arm was sticking out from the tree, and all I could see was an inch or two, due to several trees blocking my way. Anyway, I shot from that distance, and scored a direct hit, completely amazing myself and him.
UHC MP5 Overall
In the end, I have one very important warning. Do NOT use .12 gram bbs. The gun is made for .2 gram bbs, and anything less will make the gun close to useless. Recently, I was playing against a number of automatics, with this gun and a lot of .12 bbs. It was useless. I didn’t trust my gun to hit anyone further away than thirty feet, if that.
However, against those same automatics, I would readily fight with .2gram bbs, knowing that I could snipe them before they opened up, and have a reasonable chance of surviving.
The UHC MP% is a great gun that I have found is durable, usable, and very accurate. I enjoy the ability to sight in on a target, and watched the bb hit through the sights directly where I wanted it to go. I hope you get the gun and experience it too!
